The National Transport Authority (NTA) and Westmeath Sports Partnership (WSP) are today announcing details of Bike Week 2024, which runs from Saturday May 11th to Sunday May 19th.
This annual event celebrates the many benefits of cycling with over 900 events scheduled nationwide. From family-friendly activities to heritage cycles, maintenance workshops, and learn-to-cycle events, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
All 31 local authority areas are participating in Bike Week, with events organized in collaboration with Local Sports Partnerships.
Among the events planned in Co. Westmeath are:
- Lakeside Wheelers Cycling Club- Greenway Ice-cream Cycle- Family fun cycle
- Athlone Triathlon Club- New2Tri – Bike Maintenance, Puncture Repair and Bike Handling Skills Day
- St Mary’s special school – Bike treasure hunt
- Ringtown Camogie Club – Càman N Cycle
- Ballynacargy National School – Get on your bike “Be Busy.”
